Make The Choice To Niche Down Based On Being Able To Talk More Specifically To Your Audience:

We often see entrepreneurs niche down just because they are told to do so, and then end up getting specific for the wrong reasons. The reason WHY niching down is important is because it allows you to create content and messaging that talks directly to a specific group of people so you can stand out. As you’re getting specific about your niche, keep this in mind

Remember: If you’re trying to talk to everybody (or all moms/business-owners/parents) you’re really talking to nobody!

Balancing Being Specific, But Not Too Small To Be Successful:

There is such a thing as being too specific with your niche and not having a big enough audience to truly grow & scale a business long term.

I don’t think there is a magic number for how big your niche should be but you want to make sure that you won’t have tapped out your audience after 6-12 months of marketing. This typically means your audience is in the millions in size.

The Success Test:

Once you get clear on your specific niche ask yourself ‘If I write a post or email that directly spoke to somebody in my niche would there be any confusion or struggle to talk directly to them? If you find yourself trying to accommodate and write to multiple people/scenarios, you haven’t gotten specific enough. Now go forth and identify your ideal client!
